Grayton Beach
Grayton Beach is a true village of just a little more than 100 years old. Comprised of just a few blocks, this is a retreat with houses old and new beneath a canopy of old-growth oak and pine.
The village is surrounded by a high ridge of dunes with the Gulf of Mexico to the south and Western Lake to the west, offering a public dock area for exploration by canoe, kayak or inner tube.

Area History
On a stroll down one of its oyster-shell roads, you may hear stories about the roaring '20s at Grayton's Grand Hotel and the Butler General Store, which today is home to the eclectic and funky Picolos and The Red Bar restaurant. Or some may recollect the time the Coast Guard was stationed here during World War II. Today, the main street is occupied by restaurants, galleries and boutiques.
