Nearly 500 acres take the collection of neighborhoods deep into the woods, with footpaths crossing lakes and connecting each common area to the beach.
More than half the resort is dedicated to natural, open spaces, including a rare and pristine dune lake available exclusively to residents and guests for canoeing, kayaking and fishing.
Community HighlightsThe nearly 500 acre community has some 1,100 residences; BeachClub; tennis club; BoatHouse; 60-room inn; commercial space; dune walkovers and boardwalks and a lakefront park. Nearly half the site is devoted to open space and preservation areas.
Area HistoryMaster-planned by Cooper, Robertson and Partners, a New York-based architectural firm, WaterColor won one of eight community design awards bestowed by the American Institute of Architects in 2002. The 60-room boutique style in designed by David Rockwell sets the tone for the low-country architecture that runs throughout the resort.
